Creation of Espreta

After a year of sailing at sea, the good fleet finally saw land. The gold dragon feared that it was the West Isles, but as they approached she saw that it was much larger than any of the small islands that consisted of the homeland of the Prime Evils. The fleet sailed up a river, which later was named Dwarf River in honour of the dwarves’ future victory over the Prime Evils. About one hundred kilometres up the river, they settled and built the city of Riverquest. From here they would explore their new land, which they named Espreta after the warship that had led them through the difficult journey. They had finally found a home.

For years, the different races explored and built villages to accommodate their society. They worked together to ensure their survival. The elves settled near the eastern coast along with most of the sylvan creatures. The humans journeyed further west, into the forest and on to the western side of the island. Here the halflings, who had followed the humans, built their new home. They called their capital for Hobbys. The humans travelled north, along the coast until they encountered a large river that they named Giant River. On this river, they built their own capital of Waterpast. The dwarves travelled south from the elven lands and found a large mountain range where they built new strongholds. The main stronghold was called Rockycity and was built in the centre of the mountain range.

Unfortunately, the Prime Evils hunted down the Prime Goods. Decades after the settlement of Espreta, Tamae came to the eastern shore with orcs, drows, and dragons. The elves defended their lands as well as they could with the help from the sylvan creatures. Elves were sent all across Espreta to seek help from the other races. The humans sent their armies to the elven lands along with the halflings to help them fight the Prime Evils, while the dwarves despaired. The elven messenger returned with word that the dwarves would not come, instead, they promised the end of Tamae through other means.

It is unsure exactly how the dwarves were able to defeat Tamae but records are clear enough on the fall of Tamae. It is also believed that the dwarves had a lot of help from the Order of the Moon, but there’s no proof of this. Tamae’s army forced many sea creatures to band with him or die. These creatures settled and built the city of Seaquest off the eastern shore of Espreta. After the first waves had created a beachhead on the eastern coast of Espreta near the elven lands the entire armies landed and set up camp. When the palisades and defences had been set-up, Tamae himself came to the beachhead. When he set foot upon the land of Espreta he was stricken by death. In his agonising pain he crumbled to his knees forcing his minions to cure him. As soon as he noticed that none of them could do so, he decided to retreat and ordered the Prime Evils to bring him back to sea. As the leaders of the Prime Evils came near him to carry him to safety, the orb, that he had created to ensure his victory, exploded in a flash of light. The leaders of the Prime Evils were slain alongside Tamae. Many of the orcs, drows, and dragons also died in the process. When the Prime Good saw the explosion, they rushed to attack the beachhead. They slew the remaining orcs and drows. The dragons were freed from their bond to Tamae. Some helped the humans and elves fight the orcs and drows, while others helped the orcs and drows fight the humans and elves. When the sun rose, the beachhead was destroyed. The dragons had retreated but no more orcs or drows were left alive. The Prime Good knew that there were still Prime Evil lands both in the Underground and farther to the west on the West Isles. Still, they rejoiced at their victory and sent word to the dwarves, telling them that whatever they had done, it had worked. The orb itself was not destroyed, but shattered in a hundred pieces and scattered throughout the world. The end of Tamae marked the end of the First Age, and the beginning of the Second Age.

Tamae himself had prepared for his demise. As he died on the land of Espreta, he ascended into divinity. Those who touched him ascended with him, while those around him were slain. Krag and Lolth were carrying him and they were in the process of setting him on Drake so that the mighty dragon could bring him out to sea. Those three ascended with him. Krag became the third angel of orcs. Lolth became the angel of drows, and Drake became the angel of dragons.
